Doresah A. Ford-Bay
I am a strategic thinker who leverages financial, marketing, and urban education executive expertise to assist organizations in achieving goals while meeting the needs of consumers and/or communities.
I am an entrepreneurial spirit with extensive experience working in Corporate America in the fields of finance and marketing, and approximately eight years of service as an administrator in urban education. As a financier, I mastered the ability to quickly analyze relatively complex issues, identify solutions, and present evidence-based recommendations to my executive leadership team. As a marketer, I learned how to blend creativity and analytics. Working in brand management taught me how to manage multiple projects and product launches concurrently. Equally important, I became a subject matter expert of thinking strategically and understanding the needs of my consumer, while at the same time, remaining true to the essence of the brand. Education provided me with opportunities to oversee several internal departments and collaborating with cross-functional partners. I had an opportunity to build, revamp, and monitor strategic initiatives, programs, and metrics. As an administrator, I was charged with developing the recruitment approach and succession planning. This task included (but was not limited to); assessing staff needs, defining roles, creating job descriptions, and building plans to identified qualified applicants. These roles also allowed me to negotiate contracts and manage client relationships.
At my core, I am an activist determined to leave this world a better place. I am passionate about aligning myself and my work with entities that seek to be modern day change agents. The mere thought of leading work that involves building platforms that assist nonprofit and social conscious agencies discover, connect with, and employ like-minded professionals, energizes me. I am beyond excited and confident that I have the competencies required to not only support the organization’s vision but aid in making the vision a reality.
I hold a Bachelors of Arts in Finance and a Masters of Business Administration from Clark Atlanta University. Additionally, I am a graduate of the Broad Residency of Urban Education and Chicago Urban League’s Leadership Development programs.
